Refuse Removal Guidelines
Public Works is responsible for the collection of leaves, garden debris, and recyclables from the curbside of residences, and trash from public buildings. Garbage is waste that results from food preparation and other usual household functions, not recyclables, bulky trash appliances or scrap metal. Garbage is picked up from the curb 2 times a week, not on holidays. If you do not know your garbage pick-up days, please call the Public Works Department at 973-952-6078
Do not place garbage for pick-up prior to 8 pm the night before or after 6 am on your scheduled pick-up day. Garbage should be in cans or plastic bags for pick-up, not in paper bags or boxes.
Construction Debris
We do not pick up construction debris. The removal and disposal of debris generated by home improvements projects is the sole responsibility of the property owner. We do not pick up broken concrete, asphalt, roofing shingles, dirt and rocks, sheet rock, or other items commonly referred to as construction debris including hazardous material, bricks, tree stumps or logs.
