OPD Accomplishments
Prioritization of a City-wide camera system
- Re-configured personnel to maximize efficiency
- Renewed working relationships with external law enforcement agencies
- The City of Orange has experiences
- Significant reduction in violent crime since 2016
- 79% Crime reduction in 2019, lowest crime rate percentage in 30 years
- Apprehended the main supplier of heroine to the City of Orange
- Apprehended Gang leadership
- Increased manpower by hiring over (67) sixty-seven new officers since his appointment in July 2016
- Re-established the OPD Bike Unit
- Established the Fairleigh Dickinson University / OPD Educational Initiative in which the University utilizes OPD Headquarters as an off-campus site, allowing officers to pursue undergraduate and Masters level degrees. Todd believes that a better educated officer is a more confident and competent law enforcement official.
- Established the Orange Police Athletic League (PAL)
- Promoted first African American Female Captain
- 33 Superior Officer Promotions
- Established Public Safety after-school program
